Day 2 in the camper van and all going very well so far although we haven't a hope of understanding all the controls and system switches so just sticking to the necessities. But lovely to have a comfortable bed and not to awaken feeling damp!
Rob's really getting the hang of driving the van so, feeling more confident, we drove further through the Cascade range of mountains to Lake Chelan. The scenery was amazing - the road followed alongside the course of a clear blue river and the mountains were dramatic. As we progressed over the top of the range and down the other side, the landscape became quite arid - it resembled a wild west setting. And we had our lunch in a real cowboy coffee bar with saddles for seats in Winthrop.
We BBQd salmon in the evening and watched the full moon over the lake with the sound of crickets in the background. Romantic, hey?
