Day 19 Montesano to Westport 37 miles

Much better day today.  Weather got better and better as the day progressed.  We modified the book's suggested route to include a portion on a quieter road running almost parallel to the main road.  The traffic was much lighter and we soon clocked up 37 miles with a short stop in the sun to dry off the tent and towels.
And then, magic!  We saw our first glimpse of the Pacific Coast in the distance, after having cycled just over 500 miles!  Felt like a real achievement - the waves were crashing onto the long beach, the sun was hot (ish) and the sky was blue.
Our search for a decent campsite came up trumps - American Sunset RV and tent resort proved to be a fabulous site with clean hot showers, a great pitch and a laundry! So, all clean and replenished, we cycled off in the early evening  sun around the headland and onto the beach.  Bennet's Fish Restaurant really hit the spot - we both had cod, clam strips and fabulous fries washed down with Bud Light - delicious!
Still a long way to go to San Diego but if this is how it's going to be from now on, bring it on..........
