Wow! What a day of luxury! Started with delicious breakfast cooked by Sally with a view over the garden bathed in sunshine. Camping seems a distant memory!
With all the washing done and flapping on the line, we went for a walk through the woods with distant views of snow - capped mountains.
Greg (Sally ' s husband) gets up for work at 3.45am every day - they work hard in the USA. But, on the plus side, he returned at 3pm to take us down to the harbour for a 20 mile boat trip across Puget Sound for a meal in the setting sun outside a restaurant in Port Townsend. What a gorgeous fish stew - best I've ever had!
And, you won't believe this, but we've been offered the use of Sally and Greg luxury camper van over the next few days so, having had a quick lesson on the basics of camper vans, we're setting off tomorrow into the hills on our next adventure! Hope we don't prang it!
We will resume our epic cycle ride in a few days time (if we don't decide to elope in the Mercedes camper van instead.......)

Ok, now I am getting very jealous!!
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting to hear how many weeks are planned for the bike ride ( to determine my incentivised contribution). Of course one day per week resting is perfectly reasonable. But a day on a speed boat and 2 days in a camper van will definitely result in penalties!
ReplyDelete42 days scheduled but will be more. Loving the camper van apart from the LG alarm going off 3 times last night,
DeleteOk so £1 per day riding seems about right. Nothing for days off of course and minus a £1 for each day touring around in a RV ( though I can very much understand why you would!)
